Sage-green Hibisem pot with a snake plant on an oak windowsill in warm window light

Hibisem · Pot

Your plant will tell you when it’s thirsty.

A designer pot with a soil sensor hidden in its wall. It measures moisture without touching the soil and lets you know before your plant suffers.

Plants rarely die from neglect. They die from guessing.

Too much water one week, too little the next, and nobody to ask while you’re away. The soil knows exactly what the plant needs. Hibisem lets you hear it.

How it works

Three parts. One quiet system.

The sensor lives in the wall

A sealed chamber inside the pot holds the sensor. It measures moisture and soil temperature through the wall — no metal probe in the soil, nothing to corrode, nothing to wash.

One Beacon for the whole home

Every pot reports to a single Beacon station over 868 MHz radio. It reaches through walls and needs very little power, so your pots don’t need Wi-Fi.

Let it water for you

Add the drip station and your plants get exactly the water each one needs — even while you’re on holiday.

Made to live on your shelf, not in a garage.

Ribbed shell, graphite fin, four colours: sage, sand, rose and graphite. The tech stays out of sight.

Features

Small things that make it work.

  • Contactless sensing

Moisture is measured through the pot wall. The electronics never touch wet soil.

  • Coin-cell powered

The sensor wakes for a moment every few minutes and sleeps the rest of the time.

  • 868 MHz radio

Long range through walls and floors. No Wi-Fi setup for every pot.

  • Soil temperature

Know when the windowsill gets too cold or too hot for the roots.

  • One glance

A small status light on the fin tells you everything is fine.

  • Real design

A pot you’d buy even without the sensor. Four colours, one shape language.

FAQ

Questions

When can I buy it?

We are building and testing prototypes now. Subscribers will be the first to hear about pre-orders and the launch date.

How much will it cost?

The price isn’t final yet. We’ll share it with the waitlist first.

Do the pots need Wi-Fi?

No. The pots talk to the Beacon station by radio. Only the Beacon connects to your home network.

Does it need your cloud?

No. The Beacon has a local HTTP API: the phone app or your own scripts can talk to it directly on your home network. Our cloud is optional — it keeps the history of your readings and lets you reach your home from outside without setting up your router.

Is it open?

The Beacon’s firmware and its local API will be open source. You can read your data and control your devices without us.

What will you send me?

Short updates about the project: prototypes, testing, the launch and early access. We write only when there is real news, and you can unsubscribe with one click.

What happens to my email?

It is stored on our own server in the EU and used only for this newsletter. We don’t share or sell it. Details are in the privacy policy.
